Humanity Poetry
A Land With Opposing Suns
Humanity Poetry asks the question: Can two exist as one? Only beyond mortal eyes, do we see across the sea. There lies a home for all, in our humanity…
A sleepy cat requires a pat upon my lap today.
His gentle purr makes me stir.
Gladly, I give way.
Far across a sea, a land near you maybe, a woman shrieks in agony.
On someone’s command, her home, her land is blasted beyond all memory.
Warm bread in the oven bakes.
Roast and rolls, drinks and cake, for a happy home’s sake.
Down south in weary heat, a man drags himself to bed.
Cold-hearted brutes follow, and danger looms ahead.
Singing birds warble good night while frogs chorus a song.
I say goodnight to the world in which I and misery belong.
Grief and death visit, dashing intended mirth.
Yet spring buds open, and new life gives birth.
How can two exist as one?
A land with opposing suns!
Ever it has been and ever it shall be.
One life upon the land—but joined upon the sea.
Cry and scream at unfit fate when our turn at tears does rise.
For though we may enjoy a brief respite, on Earth—every person dies.
Only beyond mortal eyes, do we see across the sea,
There lies a home for all, in our humanity.
Suns become one and whole becomes our soul.
