So rarely heard the common sounds
Of life that abounds.
This world in mystery,
Wrapping present into history
Leaves rustle in the breezes,
Breath of life from summer heat seizes.
Moss mounting on a branch,
Cicadas swaying as they dance,
From shells.
Distant bells,
Harmonize religious fervor take
Dogma and replace a soul for God to slake.
A yearning cry we want not to hear,
Yet with relentless hurting, message clear.
Be still and face the music
Kind and crass
Bold and beautiful
Full of wrath.
Listen
Nothing else but hear.
Creation’s song.
Aching longing.
Hearts breaking.
Souls mounting.
In such union,
Is our communion.
